Meet Brett Williams, the president of the 87th East Texas Yamboree. Brett was born and raised in Gilmer, Texas. He graduated from Gilmer High School in 2012 and then continued his education at Texas State Technical College. Currently, Brett works as the Office Manager for Williams Custom Wood Works and is also the owner of Qwak Waterfowl. He is also a volunteer firefighter for the Gilmer Fire Department. Brett is a 4th generation Yamboree President, following in the footsteps of his late great-grandfather Don Wesley Williams (1950), his late great-uncle Steve Williams (1980), his late grandfather Paul David Williams (1985), and his father Brian David Williams (2004). He is related to four past Yamboree Queens: his sister Alexis Marie Williams Padgett (2014), his aunt Tracy Diane Williams Miller (1992), his great aunt Donna Williams Farris (1966), and his great aunt Nancy Williams Sawyer (1967). He is also related to two past Yamboree Princesses: his cousin Brianna Diane Esquivel (2017) and his 2nd cousin Melani Williams Corbin (2013). Brett has been serving on the Yamboree Board since 2012. He has been involved with the Yamboree since he was as young as 18 months old, starting as a member of the Queen’s Coronation Court and later joining the Barn Dance committee. Brett and his wife Amanda are proud parents of a baby girl named Aria Marie and a golden retriever named Ellie Mae. In his free time, Brett enjoys spending time with his friends & family, playing golf & going to the gym.
